Overview
Built around 1890 as a wedding gift for Florentino Pamintuan, this Angeles mansion served as a seat of government of the First Philippine Republic. On June 12, 1899, it hosted the first anniversary of the declaration of independence, with Emilio Aguinaldo waving the flag from its balcony. It later served American and Japanese forces, a postwar club and a hotel.
The National Historical Commission took over the house in 2010, and since 2015 it has housed the Museum of Philippine Social History, covering everyday Filipino life: clothing, games, music, trade and food.
