Overview
The parish of Saint Bartholomew is Magalang's best-known church. The Augustinians founded the mission in 1605. After the Parua River flooded the old town site in 1863, the town and its three-aisle church of stone and wood moved to San Pedro, the present poblacion, laid out in a symmetrical Spanish plan around the plaza.
The town fiesta and the Camaru Festival are held around the saint's feast in August.
