Macabebe Scouts Monument

Monument to the Macabebe Scouts, the unit of local men who served with US forces after 1899.

Overview

After Macabebe was burned in 1899 during the Philippine-American War, many of its men joined the Macabebe Scouts, who fought alongside American forces and took part in the 1901 capture of President Emilio Aguinaldo. The town remembers them with a monument.

It is a reminder of one of the most debated chapters in Kapampangan history.
