Porac
Western Pampanga town on the slopes of Mount Pinatubo, with waterfalls, Aeta communities and lahar landscapes.
Porac is a municipality in western Pampanga with 29 barangays and about 141,000 residents at the 2020 census. Part of Mount Pinatubo lies within the town, and its rivers still carry the marks of the 1991 eruption and the lahar flows that followed.
Inararo, Sapang Uwak and Villa Maria are home to Aeta communities. The uplands hold several nature spots: Miyamit Falls in Sapang Uwak and Darabulbul Falls in Jalung. The Puning hot springs at Sitio Puning are reached through Sapang Bato in Angeles.
In the town center, the Santa Catalina de Alejandria Parish Church dates to 1872. Its bell tower collapsed in the 2019 earthquake. Closer to the expressways, the Alviera estate hosts the Pampanga International Circuit for karting.
