Lubao calls itself the oldest town of Pampanga and the cradle of Kapampangan civilisation. Its name is usually traced to lubo, low, for its muddy, flood-prone land.
Morning: San Nicolas 1st
Begin at San Agustin Church, one of the oldest in the province and an Important Cultural Property since 2013. Then walk to the President Diosdado P. Macapagal Museum and Library for the story of the Lubao-born president, and the nearby Jose B. Lingad Park and Museum.
Midday: the Bamboo Hub
Head to Santa Catalina and the Lubao Bamboo Hub, an eco-tourism park by the river. In May 2026 it was the starting point of the town's first river procession for Apu Sto. Cristo.
Afternoon: Pradera Verde
Finish in Prado Siongco at Pradera Verde, home of the balloon festival, with golf for those who play.
