Sto. Tomas is Pampanga's smallest town, with just seven barangays between San Fernando, San Simon, Minalin and Bacolor. Half a day is enough to see what it makes.
Morning: clay
Arrive at Pampanga Pottery and Agritourism Park when it opens at 8am. Take the PHP 100 guided tour of the factory to see potters throw and fire terracotta, then book a wheel workshop from PHP 300. Children can paint figurines instead. Feed the rabbits and ducks, have a coffee at the park's café and browse the showroom, where pots start at PHP 10.
Late morning: the parish
Visit the Santo Tomas Apostol Parish Church, founded in 1767.
Caskets
Sto. Tomas is also the casket capital of Central Luzon, with around 300 family-run casket businesses; many makers are in Barangay San Vicente. Their showrooms are businesses, not museums, so look respectfully from outside. If you are in town on October 31, the Ataol Festival is the one day they put their craft on show.
