Overview
The parish of San Andres Apostol, Candaba Church, dates from May 3, 1575, when it was attached to the convent of Calumpit in Bulacan. It served for a time as an Estudio de Gramatica, a grammar school, and in 1762, during the British occupation of Manila, it sheltered philosophy students from the San Agustin monastery. It was also the Augustinians' base for missions to Arayat and Santa Ana.
The present church on the Candaba-San Miguel Road is a Spanish-era Baroque building.
