Birdwatching in the Candaba Swamp
See migratory birds in the Candaba wetlands from November to February, best in the early morning; the sanctuary floods in the rainy months.

Overview
The Candaba Swamp is a stop on the East Asian-Australasian Flyway. Migratory birds are best seen from November to February, and the best hours are about 5am to 7am, with late afternoon a second choice. The sanctuary area in Vizal San Pablo reportedly charges a fee of at least PHP 150, and it floods and becomes inaccessible in the rainy season, usually September and October.
Much of the wetland is private farmland. Confirm access and, if possible, a local guide through the municipality, keep voices low and do not chase birds for photos.
