Clark

Former US air base turned freeport zone, with Clark International Airport, resorts, water parks and green parade grounds.

Clark Freeport and Special Economic Zone grew out of Clark Air Base, which the United States Air Force controlled until 1991. The Clark Special Economic Zone was created in 1993, and the Clark Development Corporation manages the area today. The zone covers about 320 square kilometres across parts of Angeles, Mabalacat and Porac in Pampanga and Capas and Bamban in Tarlac.

For visitors, Clark means Clark International Airport, large resort hotels and casinos, and family attractions such as the Aqua Planet water park. The Clark Parade Grounds, once the field of Fort Stotsenburg, is now a jogging and events ground.

Clark was the first home of the Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta, held here from 1994 to 2018. Since 2024 the fiesta has been held at New Clark City in Capas, Tarlac.
